News For Korg Synth History Fans

Alex Ball has released another of his excellent synth documentaries – Traveler: A Korg Retrospective. The latest in the series documents the history of Korg from its formation in 1963, when two young men set out to manufacture a new autorhythm machine, to the present day, covering six decades of innovation. The film covers all the classics and some of the lesser-known Korg products, from the MS20 to the M1 and the Mono/Poly to the Miku Stomp, plus, of course, the Volca series of semi-modular analog and digital synths.

And as if that’s not enough excitement for one day for Korg history buffs, Bjooks have released their latest Patch and Tweak book, which also takes an in-depth look at Korg’s diverse collection of patchable synthesisers.

Bjooks: Patch and Tweak with Korg

Unfortunately, the current global chip shortage has struck the synth industry again, meaning that the originally announced “NTS-2 oscilloscope kit + PATCH & TWEAK with KORG” bundle will be delayed until early 2023. You can buy the book without the NTS-2 kit directly from https://bjooks.com/products/patch-tweak-with-korg for $45.
